WALTHAM Forest Boxing Club’s Zeryab Ali landed some real body blows to make it two wins from as many fights.
The U-64-Kilo 19-year-old puncher stepped through the ropes on Friday to face London Military Boxing Club’s Darnell Lutas on his own club’s show at the Army Reserve Center in Kilbrook.
Ali, not daunted by the home crowd quickly got down to business and unleashed some ferocious body shots that soon left the home fighter facing a standing-eight-count.
The Forest boxer kept up the pace in the second session and continued to work the body of his opponent, leaving Lutas to inspect the fingers of the ref for a second time.
With Ali still looking strong towards the end of the round, it came as know surprise when Military corner retired their man on his stool ahead of the final round.
Delighted Forest Secretary Ian Cuddy said: “I can’t thank all my coaches enough, they have been working really hard in the gym with Zeryab, especially with regards his body shots.
“He has taken everything on board and I can see him having a very bright future with our club.”
